Welcome back Alwyn... Another thing that is really interesting is the meeting between Cheney, Berisha and a couple of other Balkan leaders. Here's the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4982528.stm Good timing! :-)

I suppose they were not allowed to stay in the US because they could sue the US government. A german newspaper had the news with the comment that the US government put pressure on Germany to accept them because there is a small community of them in Bavaria and because the germans put pressure on the US on the first visit of Merkel there to close Guantanamo. Anyway, if they're not dangerous it's no problem for Albania. The only problem is what they'll do there.

I know what is going to happen to them. They'll stay in Marikaj for about 2 months, then someone will approach them to take them in Italy for $500. Over the Adriatic, on to Italy, then by train to Bavaria, where they will be leading succesful carriers in dishwashing.
So these are "freeedom fighters" who have a fear of persecution back home, and not "enemy combatants", or "terrorists" who should be sent home for trial? Sometimes it's hard to keep up.

I don't think they will be getting issued with passports, but I agree that once the fuss has died down they will probably be on their way elsewhere.
