It seems that our neigbourhood's improvised traffic calming system is much admired out there. I've found references to it here, here, here, here and here. Someone should work out a way to make some money out of this.
I am glad residents (even commercial ones) are finally taking an active role in improving the city. We are a long way from having Business Improvement Districts where the commercial residents of a neighborhood get together and pool their resources to protect their interests. I would hope locals do so before business carves up all the public spaces in Tirana. This time its a rope, next time a FENCE!
