Petrela Castle

This is Petrela Castle near Tirana. The site has been fortified since the 4th century, but the oldest surviving parts are from the 13th century. Today the castle is a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch while taking in the views.

It all looks familiar, but can't quite put my finger on it - why do i know that place?

Has it ever been on Tv or something?

Hi Scruffy. There are no visa requirements for US citizens to enter Albania as visitors. The only things you will need are a passport and ten euros which is a kind of entry tax which you pay on arrival, and ten more which you pay on departure. If you decide to come as far as Tirana let me know. I'll be glad to show you around.

Hi Squish. Love your site. Don't know if the castle has been on TV - it's a bit out of the way so I can't imagine anyone wanting to come that far. Maybe on a travel show?
Might be a good place to continue your campaign for world dominance though.
If you are ever in Albania let me know and I'll leave out a saucer of milk.

Albania is very nice country for visitors. If you have not been there do not hesitate to come and visit Albania. Be sure that you will enjoy to much.
For safety do not see what Greek media is saying becouse they are telling lies from the morning to the night expecially for Albania.

Hi to everybody...we returned from Albania 2 days ago. All we can say is that Albania was so much a surprise for us. The most incredible architectural sites, the most beautifull sea in the south, the most interesting history and the people are so nice and good(oh, I could tell you stories you wouldn't belive....).
We have seen: Shkodra, Lezhe, Kruja, Durres, Berat, Apollonia, Vlora, Himara, Saranda, Butrint, Mesopotam, Syri Kalter, Gjiroaster, Tepelene, Elbasan, Tirana, Shkodra. And we'll be coming back next year!
Welcome for any questions.
